The Lutheran Church has been at the forefront of providing quality education worldwide for many decades now, and Ghana is no exception to this tradition.Since the arrival of the early Lutheran Missionaries and the establishment of their preaching posts mostly in rural Ghana, the building of schools has become a core component of the church’s identity in Ghana. The schools were mostly in the rural areas at the beginning, with a gradual penetration into the urban areas over time. This resulted in schools like Holy Trinity Lutheran School at Kwadaso Estate in Kumasi, St. Paul’s Lutheran School at Kanda, Trinity Lutheran School at Tema, St. Pater’s Lutheran School at Madina, and many others.
The schools managed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church Schools, remain proudly and wholly owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana. The management of the schools is directly done from the Head Office of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Schools with the guidance and supervision of the National Education Board of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The mission of Lutheran Schools is for all students, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to accept Jesus as their personal saviour through a Christ-centered education, while preparing responsible Christian citizens in a safe, supportive environment, for a successful future
