School Structure

  • Lutheran Schools run three departments, namely: Pre-School, Primary and Junior High School Departments.

Pre-School Department: The department admits children between the ages of six (6) months to five (5) years, and prepares them for formal education. It combines the GES curriculum with Montessori methods of teaching and learning. The department has five classes under the care of well qualified and experienced teachers,  each class having a Teacher and Teacher Assistant.

Primary and Junior High Departments: These departments follow a nine-year Basic Education curriculum approved by the Ghana Education Service. Our children are prepared for the Basic Education Certificate Examinations conducted by the West Africa Examinations Council. They are supervised by highly qualified and experienced teachers who do not only teach but also stand in as parents in their daily interactions with the pupils.

Lutheran Schools have also enriched the curriculum by including the Rediker e-learning platform in our day-to-day teaching and learning processes. Currently, we are one of the very few schools in Africa using this world-renowned software, which facilitates collaboration between teachers, pupils, parents and Administration.

Through this e-learning portal, the schools’ administration monitors the academic activities of teachers and counselors at all locations. Teachers give online assignments engaging pupils in the use of ICT, and the pupils get to answer assignments online to be assessed by their teachers. Parents can also monitor the activities of their children using the same platform. This is a great tool which enables them ascertain the performance levels of their wards and request for timely interventions where necessary.

Our Pre-School, Primary and Junior High Schools curricula are carefully designed to raise open-minded pupils and students, fully equipped with key transferable skills to enable them compete effectively with their compatriots anywhere they find themselves in the world.

Lutheran education has at its core the raising of children to be the catalysts of change our society needs.

    Religious and Moral Training

Being a mission school, we do not relent in our efforts at instilling in our children the desire to serve God and humanity. The faith of our children is nurtured by the Holy Spirit through our daily prayer sessions and weekly study of the Bible. Each child is also viewed as a loved child of God and is taught the demands of God’s law and the unconditional love of Christ.

    Discipline

In Lutheran Schools, academic excellence and discipline go together. All pupils and students are therefore expected to strictly adhere to a set of disciplinary codes laid down by the Schools.

    Fees

School fees charged at all levels are determined by the School Management Committee. This is done in consultation with the National Education Board. Lutheran School fees are competitive and priced in local currency. The fees differ for the various streams; Pre-School to JHS and includes feeding, books, among others.
