A GATHERING OF EVERYDAY MEN AND WOMEN DELIVERING QUALITY EDUCATION WITH PASSION TO THE GHANAIAN CHILD - LEAG CONVOCATION, 2017

November 1, 2017

It was a packed but probably the most valuable four days ever in the lives of many of the dedicated educators gathered at the 2017 Lutheran Educators Association-Ghana(LEAG) Convocation. It started with a grand opening ceremony graced by many dignitaries from both national and the international scenes when it comes to the Evangelical Lutheran Schools and Churches across the world, and ended with the exciting Sunday service that coincided with the 500 years celebration of the Reformation by the Lutheran Church.

The four-day residential program had a number of highlights right from the onset, these included the musical concert on the night of 26th October, which was packed by back-to-back performances by the melodious LEA-G Band formed by teachers and workers in the Lutheran Schools across the country. It was a beautiful array of exceptional talents all under one roof. This was followed by a series of talk-sessions on very crucial topics like ‘life after retirement’, ‘integrity at the workplace’ , ‘Stress Management’ , ‘Sharing Christ’s Love Made Easy’ , among others.

The talk-sessions were facilitated by doyens and experts in the various topics from the United States, Tanzania, the University of Ghana Business School, High ranking members of the Ghanaian medical fraternity , the Pensions industry, among others. The once-in-a-lifetime journey from Kasoa to the Nzulezu with a dedicate police escort to ensure safety of our dear teachers as we traveled from dawn to dusk, could not be left out of the experience. The beautiful natural scenery and amazing journey in a canoe from the man-made canal to the Amanzule River was just splendid. Indeed Ghana our beloved country is a beautiful place to live in.

In all, it was a beautiful time spent together as members of one great institution that is passionate about quality education. A great moment to remind ourselves of the timeless vision and objective that binds us together, a period to rejuvenate a hardworking workforce and appreciate every effort and sacrifice they make daily to keep our schools among the very best in Ghana. The Convocation  was also an opportunity to have our cherished workers become the very best version of themselves in the execution of their duties and have this valuable impact felt by all stakeholders including our supportive parents and lovely pupils.

We give all Glory to God and grateful for a very successful program this year.
